A Wonderful Day by Nutty Nys is available now and features ten brand new tracks by one of South Africa’s most succesful DJ/producers. On this album, he has collaborated with The Moleskins from Sweden on ‘Open Your Eyes’, and had massive success with ‘The Look of Love’ featuring Miza and Nadine Richardson, as well as the incredible title track from the CD. Nutty Nys is currently on a nationwide tour in his pimped out taxi, equipped with DJ gear to start a party wherever they are!

Night Funk is taking on a purely ‘dance show’ orientated format, dedicated entirely to house music. There is a growing Electronic Dance Music following in Cape Town, and the aim is to include a diverse range of only the most quality house music DJs into the show. This will include some of the biggest names in the industry, as well as the most talented upcoming house music DJs and producers in Cape Town. Guest DJs on the show this November will include.. Nick Matthews – one half of SA’s amazing LIMPOP band Gazelle, Kyle Worde – South Africa’s youngest Electronic Dance Music sensation, DJ Kingsize – 13 years in the industry and travelled the world over, DJ Funky C – One of Cape Town’s hottest upcoming DJs and a regular Night Funk favourite.

Crazy Capetonian cousins Travi D and DJ Aydee are sharing a new residency on the show – Travis is no stranger to Night Funk while Adrian has continued to impress us with his jacking house beats. DJ Aydee has been doing the DJ thing since his school days, playing around with friends’ equipment. He and Travis soon started taking on the world of computer software, learning from various programs. Make sure to listen out for their unique styles and house music sounds on the show, with Travis kicking things off this Friday 4 November 2011. DJ Aydee follows next week 11 November, and over the weeks will display a diverse range of house music genres from vocal, funky, tribal and jacking house. His mixes are sure to include some vibed up classics as well, in his words “It’s music to move to.”

The Night Funk Closing Set this month will be taken over by progressive-electro-fidget house fanatics Roundhouse, made up of Alexi Michaelidis and Mike Summers.

Tonight, the winner of South African Idols Season 7 will be announced!

This past Sunday 2 October, I interviewed the two finalists Dave van Vuuren and Mark Haze in studio at Good Hope FM. It was really one of the most fun I’ve had with a live in studio interview, such amazing guys who both deserve a long and succesfull music career to mirror their passion for the business. Dave is only 21, from Johannesburg and very entertaining in a strange kind of way. I say this without offending him as I view myself in the same way at times. Mark is going on 30, from Cape Town and has been in the music business for a while with his rock band 12th Avenue.

The finale was broadcast on Sunday evening, in which both contestants put on a superb show. They each performed their favourite track of the season, a colaboration with The Parlotones and finally their own original song! Dave – “Hall Of Mirrors” which you can download by SMSing MIRRORS to 39400 at a cost of R15. Mark – “Out Of My Head” which you can download by SMSing HEAD to 39400 at a cost of R15.

Voting closed last night, and this evening we get to find out who wins via a spectacular live finale at the Home of Idols – the Mosaïek Teatro in Fairlands, Johannesburg. Kurt Darren, Lira, Liquideep, the Parlotones, Elvis Blue, L’loyd Cele and the rest of this season’s Top 10 will be performing.
